Interactive product launch experience for Naked Mini Palettes
Urban Decay partnered with Pinterest to launch the Naked Mini Eye Shadow Palettes—Foxy, Sin and Half-Baked—through an interactive campaign designed to drive product discovery and consideration. Extending the Campaign on Pinterest
To support the launch of the Naked Mini Palettes, we developed a platform-specific extension of Urban Decay’s broader campaign—designed explicitly for Pinterest. The goal was to create an experience that felt authentic to the platform while staying true to the brand’s bold, expressive identity.
The result was a custom, in-app visual quiz that invited Pinterest users to discover their “alter ego” and find the palette that matched their style and mood.
An Interactive Path to Product Discovery
Inspired by Pinterest’s mood-board culture, the quiz experience used collage-style visuals and intuitive interactions to guide users through a personalized journey. At the conclusion of the quiz, Pinterest users were matched with their alter ego and a corresponding Naked Mini Palette, along with a direct path to shop the product.
To deepen engagement and inspiration, the experience integrated creator-led makeup tutorials directly into the results page—showing users how to bring their matched palette to life.
Creator-Led Inspiration
We collaborated with beauty creators Ofunne Amaka and Jaleesa Jaikaran to develop custom tutorials for each palette. These vidoes were seamlessly embedded into the experience, blending influencer content with interactive design to create a cohesive, end-to-end shopping journey.
A Platform-Native Experience
Every element of the experience—from interaction design to visual execution—was crafted to feel native to Pinterest while reinforcing Urban Decay’s campaign ethos. By aligning with how users naturally explore and discover content on the platform, the campaign balanced creativity with usability and performance.
A Campaign that Performs
By blending interactive storytelling, creator content and platform-specific design, the Naked Mini Palette campaign transformed product launch messaging into an engaging, shoppable experience—helping users discover, connect with and purchase Urban Decay’s newest palettes in a way that felt both intuitive and inspiring.
